Due to today’s cold and rainy weather, our spring town hall is rescheduled to Wednesday, April 10th at 6:30pm in Central Park. Please RSVP here to see us in the East Meadow!

As you may know, many students across academic campuses are facing retaliation and discrimination for speaking up on humanitarian issues. This town hall aims to provide space for discussing how to “smartly speak up,” along with general union updates. We hope many union members will join as we brainstorm how our union can protect our rights in the future.

Our agenda is as follows:

  • Union updates (including NLRB and bargaining surveys)

  • Content from the email we sent last week pertaining to our freedom of speech and assembly on campus (see more here)

  • A brief “Know Your Rights” training for safely speaking up in the workplace

  • Small group discussions about how our union can protect academic freedoms in the future

In solidarity,
